This doll is really adorable. Everything from her face mold to her flowery accessories just adds to the overall image of a doll that is the daughter of Thumbelina. I was also really happy that she came in the shorter body type, thus staying true to her animation. So, why the three star rating and not a five: The accessories for this doll look nothing like the stock photos. The necklace and belt are all one shade of pink, while the headpiece is a maroon color with a few flowers painted yellow (very different from her animation). This doll also doesn’t come with a doll stand, nor does she come with the diary like the older dolls. (The loss of a hairbrush doesn’t bother me.) I would like to point out that in the stock photos the doll is pictured with earrings, but the doll doesn’t come with them. The dolls skirt is also pictured with a bubble type skirt, but she comes with a flowy skirt instead. I’m also not a fan of the new shrunken heads Mattel is starting to switch too. If you compare the new smiling faced basics to the older dolls, the heads are considerably smaller (Nina has one of these smaller sized heads). The new boxes are rather cheap looking too, thus the collectors who like to display their dolls in boxes are out of luck. Mattel is showing us one kind of product, and we are receiving something totally different, and of lower quality. To sum it up the doll herself is gorgeous, and I highly recommend her, just don’t expect her to be of the same quality that we saw in the first release dolls.
