I absolutely love Cedar Wood's design! From head to toe, she is adorable, with her heart-shaped pout, wood-carved arms and legs, and knee-high stockings with girly lavender ribbons. Her curls actually look really good as well, especially compared to the other curly-haired ladies. The one thing I don't like is the lime green Jiminy Cricket hair barrette, since it kind of clashes with the rest of her ensemble, but I appreciate the symbolism behind it.However, the real reason for taking one star off is that my Cedar was shipped to me in a box that looked like it had been stomped on a few times. I'm pretty sure this damage was pre-shipping, since the box was prepped with air packets and I've had dolls shipped to me that were not in the same condition. I understand a lot of people purchase toys to be opened and played with, but since the Ever After High boxes are so cute with their storybook feel, I like to keep the dolls inside the boxes to protect against dust. Plus, even if you are buying a toy just to give to a child, what child wants a toy that looks like it has been rolled over by a tank? I am exchanging mine for one without a destroyed box.I originally planned to give her four stars but I couldn't ignore the major problem: her hair. While others have said that the original Cedar has much thicker hair than the rerelease, if that's the case the rerelease must be bald. My original Cedar's hair is very thin on the right side of her head. So much so that it is difficult to find a way to keep the thin spots from showing. And it seems like it will only get worse if I continue to brush her hair as she's shedding a lot. This is the second Ever After High doll with this problem that I've encountered recently. It's very disappointing as she'll be spending her time on a shelf where her hair can avoid the need for restyling.Okay, on to the design: I actually wish I'd gotten the Cedar with the plain brown shoes rather than the bright pink straps which I feel clash a bit with the orangey-pink of her skirt. The heels are amazing though with elaborate wood and leaf molding. I adore her skirt as it's incredibly lovely, though I'm not sure how I feel about the top of her dress. The top and the way her lips are painted feel a bit heavy-handed in emphasizing that she's a puppet. While the cricket hair clip and blue fairy ring are cute the real winners are the wood cut earrings and the fantastic charm bracelet. The charms represent different elements of Pinnochio's story. I waited a long time to get a Cedar doll because I wasn't sure how her wood grain would feel. I was pleased to find that it feels soft and quite pleasant. Overall the design for the doll is great but the quality is so disappointing.Cedar Wood is one of the best dolls i have ever purchased! I love her gorgeous detailed outfit and the wooden grain pattern all over her body! She has a nice expression on her face and the box she came in was enchanting. The only reason i didn't give this item five stars is because of her hair which after one session of playtime, started to get mangled and tangled at the ends. Also had quite a fair bit of gel in her hair which i will wash out and then hopefully be able to re- wave her hair. Otherwise she is a must get, i got used to the round face after one day and she is a great doll! A must get for your Ever After High or just doll collection :)The box is not the best and how much it cost but the shipping is so fast so.... try to find a chipper one :)Cedar is a very beautiful doll and we love her. But... there were some issues. Her packaging was slightly dented and torn but the doll was undamaged. The shoe paint was chipped and her leg has some scratches in the plastic. But the worst problem was her hair. It came in a MESS. It was frizzy and in some areas it was broken. It was HEAVILY gelled. So much gell it was sticky to tough. But after putting her hair in hot water and washing it we got most of it out. These things might have been bad but it doesnt outweigh how wonderful this doll actually is.It is a rerelease doll without the details, but she is pretty. I knew I was going to get a rerelease anyway, and heard they have softer hair. I wanted to see how the hair was, and I was like ending my ever after high collection. I just changed my mind about ending my collection when I opened her hoping it was the original but it was not. I am a fan and collector of Ever After High. This is the only first rerelease I have and I will not get anymore of the rereleases.Cedar Wood arrived as a Netflix version rather then the doll pictured. She is missing her ring, bracelet and ribbon on socks. Her shoes are all brown. The original version looks so much cuter with all the accessories. Amazon really needs to update pictures or add a disclaimer easier to notice that item may come as a different version then pictured. I knew there was a chance by reading the reviews and my daughter is happy with the doll despite these issues. We rarely shop anywhere else.Couldn't wait to get this doll and I was not disappointed. She had a sweet pose right out of the box and her look was flawless. I know several people are unhappy that her socks do not match her appearance in the webisodes but they are really cute anyways. The wood grain pattern on her body is amazing, her hair is long and pretty, the dress is lovely and her shoes are full of details. She also has a little cricket clip in her clip to remind you of Jiminy Cricket. I adore her and am so happy that she is in my collection.Ever After High is by the same creators as Monster High (Mattel) and whilst not as big over here in the UK as in the USA or as big in the UK as Monster High it does seem to be gaining momentum and becoming increasingly popular. Like Monster High there are webisodes and I have seen an awful lot of them both with my nieces who are Ever After and Monster High mad and if I'm honest I've watched a few by myself too as I really quite enjoy them now. The theme tune is extremely catchy so beware if you haven't seen any yet as you'll be humming it for days!Ever After High is a boarding school where the children of fairytale and fantasy story characters are sent to follow their parents footsteps and embrace the same destiny. The thought is that if they don't then their stories will cease to exist and so will they, however not all of the students are happy with their destiny's. Raven Queen (daughter of the Evil Queen) is one of the students who is not happy with her destiny and has vowed to change her future whilst Apple White (daughter of Snow White) is more than happy to follow her destiny. So the school has been split with those that wish to embrace their future - Royals and those that don't - Rebels.Cedar Wood is the Rebel daughter of Pinocchio and has been made out of the same magical wood than brought him to life. She seeks to become a real girl but mostly wishes to be able to choose what she does and doesn't want to say as unfortunately her Father accidentally wished an unbreakable wish with the Blue Fairy when Cedar was little that makes Cedar tell the truth no matter what ALL of the time. Because of this curse she can't keep any secrets and her friends have to watch what they say around her. She is a really good swimmer as because she is made of wood she floats and her favourite subject at school is Arts and Crafts. She really dislikes Woodwork class as all the saws etc make her very worried for understandable reasons! Cedar is shy but very talkative and gets excited easily. Her best friends are Raven Queen, Cerise Hood and Madeline Hatter.Cedar Wood stands at around 27cm tall (this seems to be normal approx height for the Ever After High Dolls). Her hair is gorgeously soft and is brown with a purple streak in. Her hair has been styled into a plait in place of a headband across the front of her hairline and she has a green cricket in her hair too. Cedar has a wood grain effect on her body all the way up to her cheeks of her face and this is all across her body including her legs, arms and stomach. Her makeup and eye detail is beautifully done and she looks really alike like her character in the webisodes. Her dress (it's all one piece) has a peplum style top with faux brace detail and is in purple with a wood effect design on the tops print. The skirt part is in orange, purple and black and has gold flower detail. Cedar has wooden sandals which have a twig and leaf design on them and her knee high socks are a golden colour with lilac ribbon detail. She has a wooden style handbag which does actually open and she also has wood trunk style earrings in a gold colour. She has a golden coloured bracelet and blue butterfly style ring. Her shoes, dress, socks and accessories are removable and so her outfit can be changed in future if new outfits become available for her. Her arms, legs, elbows, head and wrists are jointed and so fully poseable and she comes with the normal doll stand, key shaped hairbrush and little diary bookmark that all the Ever After High dolls come with. Her diary tells the story of how she is trying to find her real voice and how Madeline Hatter and Lizzie Hearts help her.Another really excellent high quality Ever After High doll which has been beautifully designed and made and is a good likeness to her character in the webisodes. All of the Ever After High dolls are beautifully made and each of the ones I have bought and have so far (Ashlynn Ella & Hunter Huntsman, Briar Beauty, Raven Queen, Kitty Cheshire, Duchess Swan and Cerise Hood) have been absolutely gorgeous with lots of detailing and Rebel Cedar Wood does not disappoint either.A beautiful doll, but a few of the details were not included in the package like: earrings, ring and bracelet. Also the laces in the socks were not part of them. Also the pink strap shoes were only brown. I bought the doll afterwards in Argos at a cheaper price with all the accesories. It was the second version of the doll. It wasn't how it is shown on the pictures. It had no ring, earrings or a bracelet. The colour on her shoe and the bows on her socks were also not there. Her lipstick was slightly different to the picture and her hair was noticeably shorter. She did not come with a stand. I rated it a 2 because the doll overall isn't too bad but I would have liked to know what i was going to receive.Good product for girlsI was very sorry to find that all the packaging for the doll, including the story about the character, was in Spanish.. Otherwise, all fine and my child still likes the doll.
