This is a GREAT family set. I was in desperate search for a doll family for my 2 year old's dollhouse that were easy for her to pose and stand up, but weren't horrendously ugly. That's a fairly tall order, until we found these. I also have the Melissa and Doug Victorian family, and though I prefer those dolls in style, they are more "barbie-like" - bendable plastic. They don't pose easily and they have tiny little feet and though they CAN stand up, it's not something that's easy to do consistently, and it's impossible for my daughter. These are fantastic. They are far cuter in person than the pictures. I love that they're wood and all non-toxic. They all have over-sized feet that make them super easy to stand, and they bend and pose easily. We use them in a 1:12 scale dollhouse with Le Toy Van furniture and it's easy to bend their legs at the knees to have them sit in chairs. All their limbs are rope-covered wire. My husband thinks the Dad looks like a dork (he does), but that's our only complaint. One note - all the dolls have a block for a torso with the rope limbs extending from it... so you can't really pull the pants or skirts down lower than mid-waist because they'll fall off. It's not a big deal at all, but it's not obvious from the picture why all the pants/skirts are pulled up so high!If I was designing my perfect doll family, I wish there was an option for a same-gender siblings (we have two daughters and wanted a doll family to mimic her real family), but I know that Plan Toys sells individual boys and girls, so that's a nice option.Cute family, very sturdy, easily poseable bodies. I love Plan Toys in general - their products are super eco-consious, and I really appreciate their business practices. My only negative regarding this is that the belt on the mom doll comes off really easily. It is attached at the back of her dress, so it won't just fall off, but it is really difficult to get it to stay buckled, and it frustrates my daughter. We may just cut it off. Otherwise, this is a really great set, and the minor inconvenience of the belt is not a big deal when all is said and done.***Just as a note - for anyone looking to purchase this to go with any of the Hape dollhouses, these dolls fit wonderfully in all of the furniture except for the shower. Only the children fit in the shower, so if this is a big issue for you, go with the Hape family as the adults in that set are basically the same height as the children in this one.I kind of wish that there were gender options on these sets, I would have liked to have had a family with 2 girls to match our family makeup. The construction of the dolls is wonderful with wooden head, torso, and hands & feet. The arms and legs are a bendable wire-like material. This allows for a variety of positions, so the dolls can sit, stand, etc.The only thing I don't like about these dolls is that the two piece outfits are a bit of a problem. The girl's skirt won't stay up, and my girls find that frustrating, same with the pants on the man and boy.We love the Modern Dolls from Plan Toys! We have the All Season House and in addition to that: the Dining Room set, Children's Room set and the Family Car. As for the dolls we decided to go with Plan Toys Modern Family. The dolls are dressed a little more modern than all other dolls and their hands are made from wood, not plastic as the Hape dolls. The Plan toy dolls are a little taller than Hape, but still fit the house, furniture and the Family Car perfectly! So happy with the whole purchase! My only wish is that someone would finally manufacture grandparents that are a little more modern, than the ones that can be purchased separately at Plan Toys or in a set at Hape. They look a lot more like GRATE grandparents than grandparents of today.I bought this set for my 2-1/2 yr old granddaughter to use in a large dollhouse. Even though the dollhouse was large enough to accommodate 12" dolls, smaller dolls wouldbe easier for her to handle because of her age. This is a really cute family and replicated her own by size and gender. They are wooden and easy for her to positionfrom standing to sitting, etc. Haven't had them long enough to test durability. The yarn hair is a bit out there to start with and I hope it won't become a tangled mess. She loved the dolls - a lot, and was an overall hit.Well, I like the dollhouse peeps but have a couple of observations: First, they are too expensive but I didn't take the time to search for dolls that would fit Plan that are less expensive. Second, the belt on the father doll's pants came off after one time playing with him. Not a big deal, but annoying. Third, the kids don't fit in the bottom bunk of the Plan Chalet furniture bedroom set. You can squeeze one in there, but it's a tight fit. Not great for little hands and imaginations. One the plus, they are very bendable and have fun clothes.Very cute little doll family and arrived just as estimated in time for the birthday. We like these so much because we are fed up with the sleezy over-sexed gaudiness of most current dolls and these are NOT. However, the dolls and furniture were bought for another company's doll house and although all the doll house manufacturers/vendors, etc. say they are all designed to the same scale, I am not so sure that is the case. . .they fit just fine with the other Plan furniture we ordered but all seemed a bit larger than we expected. They were nonetheless perfect for the little fingers of my granddaughter.I have to say the dolls themselves are fine, but what were they thinking when they designed the "dad" in this set?? He is the ugliest looking thing!! His hair is sticking out all over and is some kind of horrid orange color. He looks like a total goober. Even my daughter looked at him like "what is THAT??" The skirt on the daughter doesn't stay up most of the time and my daughter is too small to fix it herself. The son looks like he came from some other parents. But they are still okay for pretend play. My daughter loves playing with little wooden dolls like this, so they aren't a total waste, just be prepared for one funny looking family!Searched long and hard before buying these modern looking dolls and was wary as the price was a little more than I had hoped to pay. Have to say I haven't been disappointed and my daughter was extremely happy. A year on and the dolls have stood the test of time. They have been lovingly played with and are still all in one piece so very happy with the quality. Moveable arms and legs is a must for any dolls house but having the advantage of removing the clothes puts these dolls above the rest. They say you get what you pay for and in this instance I certainly received value for money. These dolls are very nicely made as I come to expect with plan toys, easily positioned, stand up easily and sturdy. My main gripe is their terrible fashion sense - the kids are fine but the mum is more "granny chic" and the dad looks like a seventies throwback - definitely not modern!Bought these to go with Voila Wooden Happy Home and Furniture (which had to be returned - poor build quality). Kept the figures and they have proved to be a source of many hours of happy play. Family have been individually named and are one of the first things granddaughter looks for when she visits.A bit finicky when standing but great fun.Highly recommended!Bought this to go with a new doll's house and they were perfect size, and have bendable arms and legs so can sit/stand/bend a bit. Seem to be well made and currently being enjoyed by their intended (3yr old) recipient.I like these figures and the children have really enjoyed using them. It is nice to have figures with limbs that move.
