I was really happy to see that Mattel had just recently started including different body styles in their Barbie offerings. My daughters were both exceptionally tall and my granddaughter is topping the scales in her height. Getting a couple of tall Barbies for her to play with (at the appropriate age) makes a lot of sense.I'm picking up different dolls in the various body styles now because Mattel's track record doesn't make me feel as if these more unusual Barbies will necessarily still be around when she is older.This review is of a tall brunette Barbie. She actually reminds me quite a bit of my older daughter, who, like the doll, has brown hair and brown eyes. The face mold has a slight open-mouth smile and is unfamiliar to me and my thought is that these new body style Barbies may have been given their own molds so that they could be proportionate to their body type.The doll is proportioned tall and slim. She is as tall as the Ken dolls and is about half a head taller than a regular Barbie. Her hair is brown, eyes brown, lips are pink. The hair has a slight amount of stiffening product in it but will easily comb out. The skin tone is on the ivory side. No nail polish. She is wearing a white miniskirt with a white mesh overlay, a pink and white houndstooth print short sleeve shirt, yellow platform sandals and a matching yellow plastic necklace.Her legs are straight and do not bend except at the hip. They seem to be hollow versus the solid vinyl of older years. Her legs are slim, her feet are flat and larger than usual. Hips and body are on the slim side. Her left arm is bent and her right arm is straight. The fingers are mostly separated with only the third and fourth fingers fused together on both hands.I hope that Mattel offers separate clothing for these dolls as they are all different sizes, including different size feet. I've seen that they are now offering dolls with a couple of different outfits but it would be good if they offered just clothing packs as well.
